Whatever the case - it is clearly a bug and it is sad that FruitCo developers are not paying any attention to their own developer forum when a topic has 19K upvotes. Wake up Fruiters! Sorta makes the cloud claim fall apart, doesn't it? It doesn't feel like a cloud at all. It feels like a poorly implemented syncing system. I think iSporadicallySync might be a more descriptive name for the experience users have waiting for data to spastically heave itself around Apple's wobbly ecosystem.
This does work; i've completed the cycle one. This is a big step; essentially all files and folders in Documents and Desktop are deleted; then restored from iCloud; which takes many hours. Surely files in Documents that are 'waiting to upload' will be lost as they are not already backed up to iCloud. This has been a bug for a while now on Mac OS. The folder says "waiting to upload" indefinitely. I notice it happens more often when you do a git commit on a folder that is synced with iCloud. Are there any work around for that? Asked by iamlogiq. Copy to clipboard Share this post.
Copied to Clipboard. I'm in the same situation. Right now my iMac is not syncing to other devices. Posted by gparera. Add a Comment. The upload is stuck. I called Apple Support. First stop was iCloud support, who said it seems to be a MacOS issue. I was forwarded to MacOS support, who said that it needs to be upgraded.
I got Andrew, a senior support person in MacOS, who spent 3 hours with me, gathering various diagnostic information. He will be upgrading it to the engineering team. I will update what happens after talking to them. Posted by vmadhu. Controlling apps: Many third-party apps want to use iCloud Drive to store their own data.
This is useful for some apps you plan to use across all your systems, but may not always be what you want. To control which apps can store data to your online drive:. Time Zones: If you notice that emails and calendar entries have begun showing the wrong time zones its possible your account settings are incorrect. To check, login to your account online at www. If it doesn't, you can change this and the time zone problem will be resolved across all your devices.
Reclaim deleted files: If you accidentally delete something stored on iCloud Drive, you can easily get it back again from iCloud. Wait a few moments and you will be presented with a list of files that you have previously deleted in the Restore Files window. Tick the box beside the file s you want to restore and tap Done. Files are only available in this way for days.
Version conflict: If you have files open on two devices at once, modifications made on one device may be out of sync. How to sync fast : You may sometimes find files aren't syncing across your devices as swiftly as you want. You can force sync some iCloud apps by turning your device off and switching it on again, though there are several additional approaches available. What about Android? Got a story? Low Power Mode on the iPhone can extend battery life by three hours, but that comes with several significant tradeoffs.
One of the capabilities your device loses while it's in Low Power Mode is the ability to quickly load images from an iCloud photo link. If this is the case, you'll see an iCloud link "Waiting for Photos" message. If the photos included in your link have been deleted from your iCloud Photos, then the link recipient won't be able to open them.
If the iCloud photo link still isn't working, log in to your iCloud account and make sure that the photos are still there. Remember, your iCloud photo library is synced across devices if you're signed in to the same account; deleting pictures on one device deletes them from your library as a whole.
The problem might not be within your control at all; it might be on Apple's end! Visit the Apple System Status Page and make sure that iCloud services are available; you'll be able to tell because there will be a green dot next to the system name. Note: if a status has a note next to it saying that an issue has been resolved, that may mean that a recent issue could have been affecting you, but that it's fixed now.
A good practice is to restart your device and try again. If it seems like an iCloud photo link isn't working because your device won't connect to the internet, and you've already checked your Wi-Fi or cellular connection, you need to reset network settings.
Here's the suggestion:. First, you have to make sure that your OS version is up to date and your iCloud storage has enough space.
